Does Estrogen Cause Cancer?

Special Attention: Physiologic Restoration -
(bioidentical hormone replacement therapy as nature intended)

  • Practitioners who prescribe statically dosed patches, pills and lotions to their patients. This is a significant opportunity to introduce WHN.

  • Practitioners unfamiliar with Physiologic Restoration? This is a key time to learn more.

Dear Prescriber,
My name is Caren Abdela, and I am the Executive Director of Women’s Hormone Network (WHN). WHN was created in 2017 as a registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. Our simple goal when we started was to support clinical research studying the benefits of physiologically dosed hormones. This is based on Dr. Taguchi’s personal clinical practice in her cancer population started almost 18 years ago.

To briefly summarize, Dr. Taguchi found that her cancer population who used physiologically dosed hormones experienced a similar relapse risk or less compared to historical data based on an observational trial. These findings are nothing short of revolutionary and imply that our current standard of care practice of withholding hormones for women’s health may be contributing to unnecessary suffering and more disease.

These findings are so powerful that our mission expanded to bring this information to light and share the benefits of this hormone replacement modality with prescribers around the country, and the world.

Our Research
Julie Taguchi, MD will be continuing her work as the principal investigator for the study she has termed, Bioidentical Hormones on Trial (BHOT). She is in the final phase of developing a research protocol to study physiologic hormone restoration and its health impacts on 100 women over a three year period, which we hope to begin in 2021. It will consist of transdermal estradiol and progesterone, and testosterone if needed, applied in a physiologic manner. Study objectives will be based on pre -and post -treatment questionnaires regarding quality of life, anxiety, depression changes, cognition, and menopause symptoms as well as bone density and structural brain MRI scans.
A pilot study is also being planned with three arms to compare efficacy of symptom control using PR vs. standard of care.

Physiologic Restoration

What is Physiologic Restoration (PR)?
Physiologic Restoration, also known as rhythmic dosing, has been in the public domain for almost 20 years. It utilizes standardized doses of estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone. The doses of these hormones are changed about every 72 hours to mimic the natural rhythm and hormone levels of a healthy woman’s monthly cycle. Many practitioners over these years have extensively used rhythmic dosing in their practices and have found tremendous benefits with their patient population for osteoporosis, heart health, breast cancer, and quality of life.

How Can You Learn More about PR?
WHN produces an annual symposium to educate practitioners from all over the country. Due to the current COVID pandemic, our 2021 symposium we will be going virtual. You will have a chance to hear from current practitioners, including Dr. Taguchi, explain the ins and outs of PR, and how it has benefited their patients in various ways.

We also understand that not everybody can make it to a symposium. We have created a 7-part webinar series available on our website. This 3 1/2-hour series offers an in depth look at why menopause should be treated, how to prescribe PR, how to adjust and fine tune PR to their unique physiology, as well as a deep dive into cancer by Dr. Taguchi herself.

WHN has launched Physiologic Restoration The 21st Century Bioidentical Hormone Protocol!

WNH is thrilled to bring you the Hormone Solution you have been waiting for!

We know that women all over the world are clearly confused and frustrated about hormones. They don’t know what type of hormone protocols to choose and who to turn to for accurate, scientific information. In addition, doctors and practitioners may simply be untrained in healthy bioidentical hormones.

PR, backed by over 15 years of research, is the answer to these challenges. Following the very rhythms of a woman’s body, utilizing standardized plant-based botanicals, PR is balance as nature intended.

Premiering new, convenient dispensers that are easy to use, making it simple to adjust doses that meet every woman's individual needs.

PR is designed to revive hormones back to physiologic levels, so as to help each individual reach their optimal health, and effectively slow the natural aging process that contributes to disease and frailty. There is a critical connection between hormone levels and the way you feel.

Does Estrogen Cause Breast Cancer?

For many decades, we have been led to believe that this particularly important hormone that makes us women, fosters reproduction, and propagates our human species wants to harm us by causing breast cancer. It’s such a strange and unintuitive thought. Does estrogen cause breast cancer? The answer to this question can be confusing, even for physicians. I hope to shed some light to this constantly misunderstood topic.
