Join Our Study

WHN, with Julie Taguchi, MD as the principal investigator, will be continuing her work for the study she has termed, Bioidentical Hormones on Trial (BHOT). She is in the final phase of developing a comparative research protocol to study physiologic hormone restoration and its health impacts on 50 women vs 50 women on the Estradiol patch and cyclical oral progesterone, over a three year period.

The PR arm will consist of transdermal estradiol and progesterone, and testosterone if needed, applied to the skin at various doses attempting to mimic the levels of a menstrual cycle. Study objectives will be based on pre -and post -treatment questionnaires regarding quality of life, anxiety, depression changes, cognition, and menopause symptoms as well as bone density and structural brain MRI scans.

Participants can not be using any hormones to be considered for this study.

Due to Covid this study has been delayed and we hope to begin 2021. Stay tuned.....
